I had one that was tinted gold or amber, anyway it was strange being used to blue tint at the top of the winshield. I don't know the first thing about polishing old auto glass, but I will attest what a joy it is to look through new replacement glass with no pits or glare. <$200 around here. Get rid of the metal molding.

yes the window has a gold tint at top that covers the window top to bottom darker at top.where the wipers wipe is worn and turning blue. if i remove the metal molding what would i replace it with? is there a after market molding? i would like to use black instead of silver/metal. thanks art

THe stock windshield for 91-up cars has a black rubber molding bonded to it. It's a direct replacement and usually runs $10 more or so. It's better than trying to deal with 15-year old bent aluminum pieces.
