Hissing sound in AC when off 900 1992

I have a 92 960. Recently when I have the car on with out the fan motor or the AC operating I hear a hissing sound. Doen anyone know what this is?

    Possibly a leak in a vacuum hose for the heat and AC control flaps. I think I have the same problem. My hiss changes pitch with different engine RPMs. Check out the FAQ, Heating and Air Conditioning.

      well if you have a vacum leak its probobly the valve inside that cuts off defrost. Does your ac stop blowing in heavy acceleration? if so thats your prob. just a simple but expensive valve around $60.00 and about 4 hours labor might as well put a heater core in if you ever talke that problem you are only about 30 min. from it at that point.
