Remote oil filter 900 1991

For a 91 940SE wagon, B230FT w/ AW71

What tools (sizes)are needed to change the o-rings & crush washers for the remote oil filter assembly (FAQ was a little confusing).

I have a 91 940SE and am wondering what you are taking apart on the oil filter assembly that has a crush washer. Is the O-ring your referring to the one on the filter? When I change the filter I put a strap on the filter, loosen it and remove it without any difficulty. I do break the fittings on the oil cooler line and drain the cooler as well. I do put a new washer on the pan bolt.

I haven't removed anything yet but in order to get room to change the coolant return pipe I may have to pull the remote oil filter. I understand the orings etc dry out/compress (turbo is hot)so killing 2 birds w/ 1 stone.

I have an 89' 740 turbo and I used a deep 29mm socket for the adaptor nut at the oil filter and a 32mm socket for the bolt that holds the adaptor to the block and general hand tools, you should remove the entire right motor mount to make access easy, you can jack up the engine with a spare tire screw jack and a 2x4 block of wood about a foot long to lift at the power steering pump to engine bracket right at the block area to lift the engine enough to remove the entire mount thru the rear, hope this helps.

Well your in for it dude! been there done that and I would just asume pulling the engine out of a car than that. you are going to have the following problems aswell as the mount. First the oil cooler lines are not bad but the oil drain pipe for turbo is usaully in the way and I have had to remove them on a couple cars witch is pretty tricky with the turbo mounted solid better order drain pipe oring and gasket, you will need to filter adapter orings and make sure you put grease where the orings go to help hold them still, if they slip your going to leak big time. Anyway why you replacing the pipe? never had that problem and that job is definitly not a evening job for the average person more like a week end job but make sure you have every thing you need before you start. might as well replace the hydraulic mount on that side while its out they are common vibration problems good luck let me know if I can help

I have to replace the coolant return pipe (corroded & leaking. I have to pull a bunch of stuff to get at it so while the way is clear I'm doing o-ring maintenance. Thanks for the offer & advice.
