overdrive fuse blowing 200 1985

the fuse for the overdrive keeps blowing.How I can fix this?The wire at the transmission end seemed fine.

also check where the wire runs under the shifter.

You have a short circuit someplace causing the fuse to burn out.
I'd recommend unplugging the OD relay and see if you still short. You may need to resolder the electronic circuit board which has a tendancy to break solder joints. This is a cheap way to do it, yet effective.

I doubt that the OD solenoid is shorted to ground near the transmission.

Check other appliances on that fuse. Is it #11? Also powers the heated rear window. Is your Volvo a 245 wagon? Look at the harnesses going through the cargo door hinges. LH side carries hot side of window de-mist. Broken harness can allow that to ground and short.
