Question about IPD, and there new venture 700

I know this is a little off topic, but IPD is going into Subaru parts? What is there attraction to this car company? Is Subura a cult car like the Volvo?

Question about IPD, and there new venture 700

trust me some suburus are NOTHING like volvos...try taking a WRX (i.e. the road going copy of the WRC rally car) for a blast...espetially with the pro-drive stuff on it....just packa clean pair of underwear!...very very very fast...but i wouldnt like to hit anythign in one, and from the reports of what i hear of the running costs i cant afford to run one...(ps. makes a 940 turbo look like a nice cheap economical run around....)

Way off topic but.. 700

When the WRX was introduced a press release stated that the WRC car could accelerate harder on gravel than a Viper on asphalt. I'd have to see that to beleive it.

Question about IPD, and there new venture 700

Subaru is a cult car in the Northeast and Northwest. People like the AWD and wagon features; it's far less expensive than Volvo, so it has picked up the market niche that the 240 first owned when it came out.

Same here in Ottawa and in the Maritimes - Subarus are often chosen as the economical alternative to a new Volvo. In fact, it's not uncommon for a dealer to handle both lines.

Question about IPD, and there new venture 700

Maybe part of the problem is places like FCPGroton are eating their lunch in the maintanince and repair parts arena. Except for swaybars and a few other specialty items, everything in their catalog is available at 10-40% less through other distributors. I bought an aftermarket dog gate for the 245 through them for $70. When it arrived, I typed in the manufacturers name on the box into Google and found them online for about $40. IPD... Great catalog, nice helpful guys with a lot of experience, but way too expensive for parts.

FCPGroton? www.fcpgroton.com

Or the dog gate seller? I don't have that address. Just found this on Google, though.

Question about IPD, and there new venture 700

I read this in their last newsletter also. Could be they want to rally a WRX and develop parts for it?
