Anyone used Gunk Motor Flush on Oil Breather box recently? 200

This seems too easy. Does it really work? Or is it a temporary fix until the box is replaced? I have the tall version of the Oil Breather box.

I pulled the box & soaked it in the Gunk flush, then Castrol purple stuff, then hot soapy water. Came out very clean, but it didn't have too much crud in it to start.

Just pouring the flush through when you're draining the sump sounds like it's better than nothing... but probably just a band-aid approach compared to remove & clean (or replace).

It is not likely to be too effective on baked-in oil deposits. Better to remove the box and clean off the car.
