Small crack in AMM 200

I pulled a AMM off an junked 85 245, the owner said the AMM had been "rebuilt" awhile before the car was taken off the road (260K). Near the center of the housing there is a small crack - could this render it useless? Or lessen it's lifespan? I was planning on keeping it as a spare, if it's worth it.

Seal the crack with some silicone. That AMM will probably give good service and will certainly be a good spare.
