Aww now what.. 200 1985

Bleh. I'm trying to remove the #1 injector from its holder to replace the seal (whoops, yeah.. I know.. bad idea). So far all I've managed to do is twist the metal fuel line around a bit.

Should I just remove the line from the distributor and whack the injector around a bit with a hammer or something?

I've got the o-rings and the base plates all lined up and ready to go.

Would the braided fuel lines from a CIS equipped VW work when subjected to the turbo heat?

Surely it's time for an LH-Jetronic swap right about now...

Because the turbo motors use a metal plate on top of the plastic base, if your careful you can use the metal plate to hold the injector from twisting while you break loose the fuel line. Carefully take a screwdriver and pry the injector up into the metal plate as far as it will go and while you maintain pressure break loose the fitting. Make sure the injector is lined up with the flats and all the way up into the metal plate. good luck

      Say what?

*sigh* My first thought was to leave the injector in the head and attempt to loosen it that way. Whoops. That bent the line pretty well. Or is there some other fitting that I should twist?

So now I'm going to scavange as many LH bits as I can quickly. Looks like I can easily get a 700 Turbo ECU for $20. Next on my list: intake manifold+injectors+fpr, AMM from a friend, air box, wiring harness from a 700, hall effect distributor from a 240, sensors from any.. and then where to drill for a knock sensor...

That's exactly what I had to do (I still managed to break one of the metal lines). You may have the *lightly* tap the screwdriver tip in with a small hammer or something. LH would be nice...:)
