Turn Signals Not working 200 1991

This weekend the signals failed. The wife told me they where not working, I went out for a drive and they worked, then they quit and have not worked since. Fuse OK, Flashers work. Could it be the stalk? How much of a b*tch is this to get at?

Any other thoughts?

Turn Signals Not working 200 1986

This happened to my '86 some time ago. The flasher relay is shared by the turn signal circuit and the hazard circuit. However, the power to this relay comes from two different fuses. In my case, corrosion on the turn signal fuse contact prevented power from getting to the relay. Hazards still worked though. So before replacing anything, clean the fuse contacts.

Could be the turn signal relay, i don't think it's the same one as the flashers (not sure tho)

on my '86 that relay is behind the lower center console on the drivers side, I think it's black... it creates the "clicking" sound during the signal.

If it is the stalk, and I am not the one to give electrical advice, it is a very easy replacement. I just replace the one I broke off in -30c weather. Took the "new" one off my 1979 parts car and plugged it into the wires on the 1982. Everthing was identical and it took 10 minutes. Remove the steering column surround, remove the two screws holding on the stalk, and reverse for install.

Could be a bad wiring harness. On my dad's '92 wagon, the front driver's side signal sometimes worked and sometimes didn't from day to day. The bulbs in the dash would work and you'd hear the sound, but no output from the bulbs...faulty harness...just a thought.
