Seat belt conversion 120-130 1965

Hi again,

I hate my 220 wagon's seat belts. I'd like to replace them with a retractable set. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Scandcar sells (or did 8 months ago) a front retractable, German-made, by Stahl, which is a pretty easy swap. You only need to change the center anchor assy and unbolt/rebolt the new belt portion on the B pillar. Ran about $60 US. Can provide some digital pix if you want.

WARNING on these: don't try to unwind the belt off the retracting spool until you have that piece bolted on the bottom of pillar and at the proper orientation (spool mechanism in line with the pillar)--I did and it only "took up" a lot and "let out" a little bit. I ended up with so much belt on the spool that it jammed and would never unspool. ;(

Well, my friend Brett has a 65 122 with 240 seats in it, and yes, 240 belts too. Perhaps you may like to try those.

Yup sure do ... and wouldn't swap out those 240 seats for love nor money .... after 2 back surgeries they are the only seats that I can drive all day in and get out of the car not crippled .... WELL worth the time and effort ....
