Weber pros/con 120-130

I'm thinking about buying a 66' 122 4door. It has a webber 2 bl. carb. I've only had SUs so I'm unfamiliar with this thing. I would love some input from someone who has dealt with one of these before. The whole car is $250 by the way.
Thanks
Davy

Just buy the car.... if you don't like how it runs, lose the weber and install a pair of SUs. Then sell the weber setup on ebay for almost as much as you pay for the whole car. Thats what I've always done....

Weber pros/con 120-130

Matt;

A gret solution!

If your buying dual DCOEs, you're buying a perf increase, but if you're buying a single downdraft you strictly buying the name and a perf and (very arguably IMO) mainenance decrease...plus you loosing those wonderful sucking sounds!

Cheers

Perfectly adequate for a stock engine, won't work with any modifications like SU's will. I wouldn't pause for a moment based on that carb if the rest of the car is nice. I see HS6-n-manifold sets on eBay constantly for <$50 if you feel the need for dual carbs.

Weber pros/con 120-130

Pro (compared to SU):
1) There's only one of them.
2) Slightly better economy if driven for that (and only if).
3) Once tuned, stays in tune forever (good SUs only stay nearly forever).

Con (compared to SU):
1) Fine for a mild motor, but won't support as much power as SUs.
2) Much more complicated to tune, if you need to tune it.
3) Tends to ice up internally on foggy mornings.

A new Weber is much better than worn out SUs. A worn-out Weber is at least as bad as worn out SUs.

Your call.
