That's the dealer retail price, so if anyone has a lead on an uncracked used one I'm all ears.

I'm considering a dashmat and the IPD plastic dash cover as alternate solutions.

    In 1993 I bought a dash cover from JCW at a price cheaper than IPD for thew same item.Ten years later there are only a few cracks but I am satisfied that after a decade it has given value for money.$1200 for a new dashboard ? is that installed or just the part? For $1200 I can get a decent beater 240 for that ! Yikes !!

      The $1200 price is just for the dash and doesn't include shipping. I doubt Volvo sells many, nor could they expect to at that price. At a minimum, it's a disincentive to anyone lucid.

    Well, if you're okay with spending hundreds of dollars.. you should talk to one of those discount (usu 15-20%) Volvo dealers (there are a few of them that do mail order).

    Otherwise, scour the junkyards.. and use a fabric dash cover. I think those plastic ones just look cheap and tacky.

    I hope the rest of the car is nice, because $1200 is more than my 84 240 is worht.

      To even ask the dealer what a new dash cost is a joke, I'm shocked they didnt get $20 just for the trouble of looking it up. Sorry, but I got my dash at the yard for $30 and a Volvo dash cover for free. It might be tan but it works just the same. Anybody wanna swap me for a black one??? LoL!!!
