Transmission not shifting 900

I am barrowing a 93, 940 Turbo that has 155,000 miles on it. Out of the blue it doesn't want to go to the next gear. At first it took extreme RPMs to get it to shift to the next gear and now it won't go to over-drive at all. Could this be something as simple as low fluid? There isn't a manual in the car so I have no idea what is the right amount or whether to check cold or warm etc.

Any hints appreciated. Also, type fluid to use???

Thanks, Tom

Transmission not shifting 900

Look at:

Fluid: The dipstick is yellow, just behind the intake manifold. It's marked; check when warm after cycling the gears and ending in Park.
No 1-2 shift: kickdown cable maladjusted. See our FAQ under Features above for more info.
No 3-4 shift: bad overdrive relay. Resolder the connections inside. See the FAQ.
