Maybe this weekend, if the weather improves, I'll take a pic of my 83 with the overlay on and post it (if I can figure out how) so y'all can form some opinions. It is not as nice as a new dash would be but it is not real obvious either. This would not be the way to go on a restoration but for a driver it looks a few hundred percent better than all them cracks for about $80 shipped and an hour of your time.

Well, at least it made wife.com very happy and she is the one I need to keep in a good mood!

    Later,

    Justin B.

    Jeff,

I am in the same boat with our '81, there really doesn't seem to be any inexpensive method to revive the interior. Just Dashes in California (www.justdashes.com) can reskin the existing dash, but it is expensive (quoted me $600 for black, $650 for color). This is better than replacement through dealer at $900 however.

    Good Luck,
    Jeff

I recently glued an overlay on my original multi-cracked dash and it now looks quite presentable. It was between $60 and $70 dollars and took about an hour to install.

You want, ideally, an '89 dash, the last year for a fully compatible easy install. Good luck though. I have not seen one on Ebay in quite a while and an uncracked one will bring three figures. I just dropped my only spare into the 242Ti and it is a couple of hour job, max.

No, but have you tried Ebay?
And have you considered changing out the whole thing? I mean the vents and instruments and all to a later style? It's all a bolt-in job and you can gain the 3 extra gauge locations (like a Turbo) or a place up top for a new stereo, plus a big bin down below.
My friend has a late dash in his '76. Works just fine.
