Draco 5 Spoke Alloys......Do They Damage Easily ?

Considering the purchase of these wheels for my wife's 93 940. Spotted them on an '89 740 wreck. Price is $440 Australian for the set and they come with one new Bridgestone Potenza tyre. If purchasing would have them tested first.

Has anyone had a negative experience with them?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, they bend fairly easily.
I have a straight set on my 245 for which I paid US$100, and a set of racing tires mounted on another set. Each of the second set is bent to some extent, though they balance out OK. I looked at 8 rims in the pick-n-pull, took the 5 best, one of which is unuseable. The other 3 were obviously worthless.

Yes, 10 year old wheels are a problem and pulling two sets to make one is my experience, certainly with Virgos. But Dracos are more sturdy and reliable than Virgos I think.

I assume you mean the 15"ers that came on the 740T's in the mid 80's?

Mine lasted about 15 years until I hit a big rock and bent one side of one front wheel. No balance or inflation problems but I did get a replacement. Pretty sturdy wheels.
