Radio code - shows OFF - please help !! 900

Hope someone has the answer.
New battery installed.
Have to put in code to reactivate radio. Mess up sequence. Disconnect battery. Try again - do something ...shows OFF in display. Now no matter how long I leave the battery disconnected - it still shows OFF - at the start. Cannot get cod to show back up.
Is there a reset or something I need to look for??
Thanks for any and all help.

    Radio code - shows OFF - please help !! 900 1995

When you disconnect the battery try touching the positive and negative cables together momentarily. That may clear the memory of the radio.

Sorry. my radio fix was for a CR-915 in a '95-940. Not sure what radio you have. Let us know how you fixed it or ask again.

Depending on model, year, and radio, you either have to leave the radio alone for 24 hours with the battery connected, or leave the key on and the radio on for 1-2 hours (or go for a cruise) to re-initialize the unit. Then enter the correct code.

Check your owners manual, page 1-18. With the battery connected, radio on, put the key in position I for two hours and you should get the "COdE" again. Then enter the correct four digit code.
