Interior Disassembly - 940 900 1994

Just acquired a 1994 940 and am trying to get past the rookie stage. I'm working on installing a decent stereo system, and couldn't find any tips in the FAQ's, although it's truly a gold mine of other info. I have plenty of 240 experience but the fasteners/panels in the 940 are much more comprehensive and better hidden. I've ordered some speakers from Crutchfield, but their installation notes were for 91-93 models, diagrams were fuzzy, and some directions just don't apply. So:

there are two little tweeters at the ends of the dash, two odd-shaped units(~5-inch) in the front doors, nothing in the rear doors and a pair of 6X9's in the rear shelf. How are these driven? separate amp for some/all of them? all from the head unit(car has a cheap Pioneer CD receiver). How to get the center console apart and footwell center panels off? I've pulled the door sill trim pieces and run power and signal wires from the trunk up to the footwells, but am stymied by the central console footwell panels.

In short - any help in how to disassemble the lower dash would be great, and any general tips about stereo system wiring in these models.

    Interior Disassembly - 940 900 1995

I ordered an Alpine for my '95 940 from Crutchfield. Some of the parts from my car did not match what was supposed to be there, but a call to Crutchfield remedied that. I talked to a CSR that really helped me out. If you haven't already done so, a call to them might be in order.

    Good luck
