Hello,

I've got an '85 740 Ti, and the brakes need servicing. (Lumpy braking on account of warped discs.) I was thinking about just having the discs ground down, or, if I needed to, getting new discs entirely, but according to ipd, those're budget brakes that screw up a lot--including causing warped rotors.

ipd also said that better brakes were in every single 240. I've got a junker, and my question is this: can I switch the calipers between the 240 and the 740? Would I have to change rotors too? Is the switch even possible?

    Nothing on the 240 front brakes fits the 740 front brakes. You can do some good upgrades to your front brakes with later 700/900 brakes. See the 700/900 FAQ.
