Hazard flasher 200

While waiting to pick up my son a few days ago, I pressed on the hazard flasher button, perhaps for the first time in a few years, and they didn't come on. I pressed the botton a bunch more times thinking that maybe the contacts were dirty and they would beging working again but no luck. I did discover that if I press in on the button just slightly, that partial conact is made and the right directional signal goes on. Does the switch need cleaning/replacement or is there a relay that may be faulty? Thanks fir your suggestions.

More likely is that the flasher itself, which is simply a special electronic relay, needs to be resoldered. $0, 15 minutes, no risk, clean 'n easy work. If resoldering doesn't solve the problem, then you've lost $0.

Also resolder your fuel pump and OD relays before they let you down -- particularly the fuel pump relay.

As I recall, the flasher in my '86 was intermitent when I bought the car. I resoldered every relay I could find, and have had ZERO electrical trouble since.

Boulder -- beautiful city, great place to visit.
