I finally figured out the component that causes my car not to start on Rainy/Humid days. It's the Silver-in-color box, (looks like an "old" relay), between the coil and the battery. It's metal, and attached to the fender. I used to take a blower to it when ever it acted up, but now I just used a lighter to heat it up. Hope I'm not damaging anything. It works every time!

Can anyone tell me what this component is, what it does, and if I might be causing any damage by heating it up with a lighter? Also, has anyoine ever "sealed" this part to prevent the no-starts?

OK, after reading the two previous replies, and giving it futher consideration, I'll have to retract. Maybe I didn't find the culprit, but I must be damn close, cuz it works every time! It could be that little flat/black box right next to it. I think the flap/top opens and there's a few wire connections in there. I'll let you know.

Like the other post, that is the lights relay. But I think you are in the right area, there are some ign wires that form a junction next to it, check those. Also I hope you have the 25 amp fuse in a weather proof holder. (next to it) That's a real bigge in no starts.

Sounds like the headlight high beam relay - have a helper flash the high beams while you listen/feel the relay. I sincerely doubt, however, that that particular relay will cause a no-start under any condition.
