fuel pump conversion? 140-160

My fuel pump has been touchy as of late and I was wondering if there is any conversion, either to an older mechanical pump or perhaps just something not volvo all together. The reason I am wanting to change the pump is because so far my efforts on finding a fuel pump for a 73 145 havent been going to well. And the places I have found them want 200-300 for a pump. Any insight would be helpful.
Thanks
John

Go to a junkyard and pull a fuel pump from a FI Mazda rx7.

I've been planning on reviving a FI 142 and installing a
megasquirt computer and new injectors. Is this mazda
pump small, reliable and quiet?

Yes Yes and Yes,Its also very powerful. The FI Rotory engine is a gas hog.I've used these pumps
on big block V8's and they never mist a beat.

I can't tell if you are looking for the diaphragm pump for carbs or the
electric pump for FI. RPR has the Pierburg diaphragm pump for carbs
and they work very well.

Have you tried the "self service" type junkyards? Usually those pumps are easy to find and go for around $10.
