what blower motors interchange 700

I have a 91 744T and the blower motor makes a noise in relation to fan speed. What blower motors interchange...940, 850?

On certain years of the 740, it could be replaced with a GM motor (for <$20), but I don't know if that includes the 1991's.

Note: My 1990 was making a rumbling noise that increased with the fan speed. It turned out to be the mounting of the motor to the mounting plate was loose. They are held together with 3 or 4?? flimzy little bent-over tabs that wouldn't stay pressed-down tight. I added some small sheet metal screws and washers around the edge of the motor and it has stayed tight for several years. You have to pry the squirrel cage off of the motor armature to see what I'm talking about.

I don't know if this is your problem but it's worth a look-see.

I believe that the GM blower interchange only works for cars from 1989 and older. I think that you will have to bite the bullet and buy the Volvo Specific/OEM product.
