I need a bigger altnator 200

What size altnator will fit on my 81 245. I need a bigger one because I am running alot of fog/driving lights because I use the car for camping and some off-roading. I also have a nice stereo so I need the amps.

I think IPD sells an alternator upgrade for 240s. You could probably get more juice just from a later model alternator. Somewhere along the line an upgrade was made. Cant' remember when. For the big stereo, a capacitor can help with power supply issues a lot, and you might not need the other upgrades.

You can get some big guys on there.....what is the stock one on an 81 non-Turbo?

Without a turbo there shouldn't be much of a room issue. Folks have adapted GM Alts - I don't have the link, but some moderate surfing should hook you up to the guys site.
