I just replaced the blower motor on my "new" 745 5spd today. I went to my local parts store and asked for the motor by application. They had it, but, on a tip by the FAQ'S, I asked for a motor for a '85 Chev. Citation. Guess what? They're the same except the Volvo application came with the plastic blower cage (which I didn't need). Oh!, did I fail to mention, The Chevy application was half the price!!!!!!!! I now have heat and money to spend on something else!!!

My blower is starting to squeak. BTW, did you know the Citation was Volvo's test mule for the 850 drivetrain? I have the story somewhere and a pic of the car. Hard to believe.

Although motor will fit, you may have to play a little to make the cage fit too.
Not very hard to do.

The original cage fit just fine, no modifications needed.

You can use an o2 sensor from a 91 ford 5.0 mustang, $45. Half price, just splice the wires. I wish I knew the citation thing when I replaced my blower. Mine was $60 from fcpgroton and didn't come with the right connector anyway. I spent almost an hour trying to honkeyhitch that connector.
My friend used to have an 82 citation. 'red ryder' that thing was a horribly underpower tank.

Many of us use that motor. One problem I've found is that when water collects at the bottom of the motor, it rusts. I drilled some drain holes and lubed the lower bearing. In case you haven't noticed, there are a few GM parts in the car.
