Steering Fluid Question 200

Hi all - Here's an easy one. I have a '92 240 auto with a bit of a leak in the steering rack. I know the power steering takes ATF but my question is, should I use an ATF type stop leak or some other type?

thanks for your help
michael

    Steering Fluid Question 200

These types of questions on the board are always more complicated then you'd expect because opinion really comes into play with fluids. Some will say never use any additive. For power steering some will say an oz. of brake fluid. I will say use power steering conditioner from lucas oil, I swear by the stuff. It fixed a leak in my Toyota Camry and stopped the groaning in my brick. Am I more correct then any of the other opinions, probably not, they all have merit and different things have worked for people so they've stuck with them. But I thought you should be forwarned that there will be yet another discussion of this topic.
