i have a problem. at the end of the year i will have my 87 740 turbo on the road. iv made a promise that ill will drag him in his 3.0L 6 cylinder skyline which has a chip in it. i know that he would more than likely bet me but i would give him a run for his money. all i waont to know is what can i do to get more horses out of my quick brick. i will probarly only have about $600 australian dollars so what would be the cheapest way to go quicker, would putting a chip in it help more than getting a boost controller and run it at say bout 10 psi or is there any other tricks which i dont know

p.s. i would adjust the wastegate but i cant find the bugger so if anyone tells me what it looks like or if it even came with one?

your loosing, just trust me its about power/weight and you have less power and more weight, in order to get your power up to where it would need to be (im guessing here but in the region of 500bhp) you would have to add at least a 0 to the end of your budget...

First things first....Go to your local salvage yard and locate a wrecked Ford Mustang GT with the 5 Liter Engine, Transfer the ENTIRE Engine & EFI Computer harness into your 700 Series, BEFORE you EVEN THINK About going after a Skyline.
Then to be on the safe side a good SuperCharger System won't hurt for a little added insurance to guarantee you a victory...

humm... I think too many people have been playing Gran Turismo on Playstation to get their idea of a skyline... seems everyone automatically thinks it's a GT-R.... The older ones aren't all that fast, and not necessarily AWD or Turbo for that matter (If i remember correctly)... more comparable to a non-turbo Supra of the era

skyline, or skyline gt-r... there's a difference. ;) if it's a skyline gt-r, he's gonna beat you off the line because of the AWD.... it's gonna be pretty tough.

The Nissan Skyline has a OZ only RB30E engine these engines make 118KW at 5200 RPM and make around 120 to 130 KW with chip and exhaust. Go to the turbobricks board and ask the same type of Question there they will tell you what to do

you could try the mods on turbobricks.org. The waste gate is next to the turbo, it has a rod that used for adjusting the boost

I LOVE SKYLINES!
regular 6 Cyl skylines produce 215 hp.
The twin turbo GT-R produces 270 hp and has a 0-60 of 4.7 sec.

BUT...
The skyline was only sold in Japan and it didn't come with a 3 litre engine.
and they cost from 45-80k dollars.

However..
Nissan has a 300ZX in both NA and twin turbo forms that is powered by a 3 litre V6.

The NA engine is 222 hp
The twin turbo is 300 hp

first of all im in australia so theres a difference in models. i think this his is a R30 motor. i think its a late 80's early 90's model but i dont like skylines thats why im at brick board not somewhere else.
