Rear window pump 200

I just installed a used #2 windshield pump for the tailgate window washer on my 1992 240 DL wagon but the fluid isn't making it to the window. I had my wife get in the car and activate the rear window pump while I watched it and it was making noise like it was working. I believe I hooked all the hoses up correctly and after she activated the pump for 10-15 seconds and no fluid was visible, I removed both hoses from the rear pump ports and verified the fluid was going thru both of them.

Could it be air in the line from the pump to the back window or something else I did wrong?

Thanks in advance!

The rear washer fluid line passes through the rear passenger cargo area opposite the spare tire. There is a small plastic elbow connector in the line before it passes into the frame, up towards the sprayer. I think the connector has some sort of a backflow valve in it so you get washer spray right away when you push the button. My roommate had to replace two of these such connectors on his 93 Saab 9000, so it seems that they are easily clogged. Although, I haven't had any trouble with mine on my 87 245. I saw a bunch of them on the wall at carquest last week, so they should be easy to find. Check it out...

    Good luck. 1987 245 228k
