Is it safe to put MSD Blaster 2 coil in my 945T? 900

Hello-
I just wanted to find out if it would be safe for my electrical system if a put my Blaster 2 coil that was in my 242ti into my newer 945T? I know the 242 had a ballast resistor that controlled electrical output, but I am not sure about my 945T. Now that I am running higher boost, I want to be sure that it is getting all the spark it needs. Thanks for the help.

Tell us if it would work, because I would like to do the same.
my friend has a blaster 2 that he will give to me.

what happens if the resistance is wrong? will it not work or will you hurt something?

Thanks, Andrew Woods

Well-
I found primary resistance of stock Bosch coil should be between .6 and 1 ohm; since the resistance of the MSD coil is .7, there should be no problems. However, I found the the coil bracket is too big to hold the MSD coil, so you will need to remedy this. Also, you will need to change the coil wire that goes to the distributor; the stock coil has a little post inside the tower that gives it's signal to the wire, as opposed to the type of connection that is on the inside surface of the tower. Just my 2 cents. It should work without problems though.

Look up the specs for resistance for your stock coil and see if they match.
They do match for my '90 240 ( I put one in about 6 months ago, works fine )
