seat belt buckle lights 700

I KNOW i have seen this answered before, but i cant find it by searching...grrr..

My bro's 740 has blown the seat belt buckle bulbs and im gona have to fix them for him...can someone remind me what the trick is to get at them...he is convinced he has to remove the seats...

Assuming that the 700 series is before production year 1992, follow the directions below - you do not need to remove the seats.

1) Lower the seat back a little
2) Pull the seat belt harness(the part containing the light) toward the seat cushion. It is tight in this location.
3) Look near the bottom of the harness and locate the outline of a little pannel on the side of the harness (inside this panel is the light assembly).
4) Slide the pannel down by pushing it toward the floor to release it from the harness (be careful the wiring is still attached and you do not want to break the wiring during this procedure).
5) The access to the bulb is now apparent and it can be replaced.
6) Put it back together in reverse order.

This is a hard place to be working but with patience it can be accomplished and it sure beats taking seats out!!

Which Bulb? 700

I was able to get the little panel off with no problem on my '89, but there was no bulb in the socket. None of the manuals I have state which bulb to use.
