I plan to replace the wiring harness soon in my 85 244GL and I figured I’d replace as many hoses and vacuum lines as possible while I was at it. Does anyone have a list of the size and length of vacuum lines I’ll need while in there.

I have my hoses already purchased. I’d hate to make four or five tips to the auto parts store to get them right. If someone here had a list I could buy them all at once and get the right ones.

Is there a better brand of vacuum line you recommend? It there a national auto parts chain that you recommend or should I go Volvo specialty store mail order on this?

85 - 244 GL - Looking for a 245!

Opinion: I've found the fitzall sizes the local auto parts counter carries in bulk (3/16, 1/4) work for what seems like everything. He tried to sell me silicone, but I don't have any turbos or a lot of money. Just can't recall having a car long enough to replace hoses twice.

I bought a kit out of the Summit Racing catalog - silicone hoses, many colors available. I was able to replace 90% of my hoses with what was included, and the silicone will last much longer than the OEM rubber. Also dressed up the compartment a bit.

I just saw in the ipd mailer thay have a vac. line kit with 2 common sizes and is fabric rapped.This is better then the common rubber hose. The kit sells for $22.50.

Probably Gates brand would be good hose but I just got a new Eastwood catalog in the mail today and they now have silicone vacuum hose kits for $49.95 - that crap would never wear out!!!
