Can not get car into OD until it has been driven for a while. I live in So Cal so the ambient temp is pretty mild. Once it has been driven some distance it works fine. Od light in dash seems to work and I can hear the relay clicking but as stated no OD when first starting. Any ideas?

    Listen under the car at the solenoid when the car is cold to see if you hear a consistent click each time your assistant presses the button with the key on. If you don't hear a consistent click, it might be the solenoid or the wires leading to it. Also, lots of people have resoldered the relay just to be sure. I'm no expert, but checking for the solenoid click is really easy and may tell you something.
