Stiffening the frame/body 140-160

I want to know what people have done or can do to their older volvos for stiffening up the body and frame. In newer cars they can use strut braces and the like, but what can we/I do to a 142 other than getting a full roll cage welded in or welding the body seems... If you know of anything let me know.
Thanks,
Kyle - (KLR 142

I frankly don't think the 140 needs any stiffening. The front suspension loads are all carried by the beefy crossmember - not weak(er) strut towers. If you are going to race it a cage is a necessity - but the roofs on 140's are very strong as is - more so that most if not all other cars.

        Hey Shayne!
What's up? I am in the process of paying off my debt, then in the beginning of march I will drag race my car at PIR. After that, I'll be interested in some new carbs... SUs or DCOEs... I don't know. but I'll let you take care of that when the time comes...
        Later,
        Kyle - KLR 142

            Hey Shayne,

Since this thread has become a conversation...

Got the package with the MC spacer today. Get that in and let you know how it goes. The change in daily schedules has been weird but OK so far. As part of all this, I've been moving out of the car work garage and plugging that money hole. I came across the head that was in the 122 when I very first bought it. The valves are larger than I remember, but all my specs were, um, deleted at work after I left Monday. Does 36/45 mean anything?

Anyway, thanks again for your help with the brake thing. I'll let you klnow how it goes. Hope all's well with you!
