Possible tp retro-fit an Intermittent Rear Wiper ? 200 1981

My '81 DL wagon does not have the intermittent rear wiper feature that the GL models had. In the Seattle area, it would be great to have that with all the mist we have. The rear wiper switch on the wiper stalk has both the on position and the intermittent position, but only the on position works the wiper. What would be involved in upgrading to the intermittent feature? It seems that the motor would not need to be changed. Is it just a relay that would need to be added? Any one done this upgrade before?

You'll only need the relay itself. The car is pre-wired. Please note that even though a front wiper relay would fit the rear relay connector, they're not switchable. Front relay is black, rear is blue (common) or yellow. The relays/connectors are hidden behind the black steel plate found to the left in the drivers side footwell, just fold the carpet away and you'll see it. Removing the footwell side panel first makes this operation easier. Sometimes - fortunate times, I'd say - the wiring harness and connectors can be accessed from the top opening without removing the plate.
