Disconnected WG rod... Epilogue 700 1988

I'd posted last week about discovering my WG actuator rod not being connected and appreciate all the replys. I was just under the car for the first lookaround and oil change when I found this and slipped it back on but didn't secure it.

Of course it fell off again during the week. Very slow car with the WG flapping open. I secured it yesterday with a washer and cotter pin and did indeed see this time the locknut and threaded adjuster. So now the car is great fun to drive and while I haven't put a pressure guage on it to see where things are set, accellerating at 3,500 rpm in second, 1/2 to 3/4 throttle, the dash gauge is running about 1:00 o'clock to 1:30. First gear sure is short.

Thanks for the help.

For much more fun for about $100, try the G-valve and air/fuel light meter from www.dawesdevices.com These will let you increase turbocharger pressure gradually and safely with very nice results and no down sides provided your car is within factory mechanical and tune specifications. Follow their instructions, as easy as falling off a log. If in doubt, post here for much collective wisdom or email Darren Dawes, a nice guy.

Dawes.. Thanks.. 700 1988

Appreciate the link. After my suspension upgrades, a manual boost controller will probably be in the cards. I'll do compression and leakdown tests first though.

Thanks. Good site and information. Probably not before this summer as I want to get the suspension sorted first. And the water leak, and the fuel pump etc.

Regards,
