'83/84 760 Engine swap 700 1983

Hi,

I'm new to this site and this is my first message.

I have two 83/84 760's. The first one I aquired for free, spent $50 having it moved, it's a turbo four with about 140,000K, body is OK but in-side is completly trashed. The second is a V6 with a blown cam, about 280,000k, good body, OK interier. What should I do? Fixup the turbo four, or fix the cam on the V6, or pull the turbo four engine and tranny and put it in the V6 model.
I'm open to any ideas.

Thanks.
gargyle

In my opinion, it will be faster to rebuilt the turbo interior with V6 one than swapping the engines. Main problem to face when rebuilding interior is replacing headliner (see FAQ on swedishbricks.org), all the rest is simple (seats, carpets, door panels, etc.) You just need a screwdriver and some time

If you only want/need one car, then I would use the turbo set-up and stick that in the one of the two bodies that is the best and then make up one car with your two. The V6 is a good engine but yours is the older ones which did have a number of issues. The red-block turbo engines are better and yours has done fewer miles, also you can play around more with the turbo and improve its power. Just make sure the engine is sound before you up that psi...
