Tack, no tach 200

Why is tachometer reading only up to 1000 rpms or there about? Just installed today, this is supposed to be a plug 'n play operation.

I had one that did that...I gently pushed, prodded, pulled on the base of the needle and it fixed. BEWARE...the needle will break with very slight pressure.

BTW...I did this while sitting in the drivethru at Subway and the car running. Been fine since.

Further information - I checked out wiring and there is no white/red wire connected to terminal 1 on the coil - this would seem to be a problem. Any ideas on where to look for this wire and where it connects to? Bentley isn't a lot of help since it only goes back to 83 (this one is an 81).
