Coolant leak 700

I have a '91 740. I have noticed an area on the ground under the engine
covered with fluid. It looks like antifreeze. It only occurs when the
outside temperature drops below 40 at night. I have noticed antifreeze on
the side of the waterpump. Its not from the weep hole. I am suspecting
the "o" ring that is used between the pump housing and the head.
has anyone seen this problem before? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I have had the exact problem. Although you can get the water pump seals without the water pump, I would replace the water pump with a new one since you will have it off.

John's right. If you're going to go through the trouble required to remove the water pump, you had may as well change the pump out; unless you have lately changed it.

John's right. If you're going to go through the trouble required to remove the water pump, you had may as well change the pump out; unless you have lately changed it.
