240--‘87 to ‘85 Bosch Injector Swap?

I have a set of Bosch injectors, 0 280 150 734, which one of my parts books says should fit various 240’s, 740’s, and 760’s from ‘87-’90. But a different number, 0 280 150 209, is listed for the ‘85 non-turbo 240 with B230F. Bosch numbers sometimes jump around even when the parts are essentially the same. Does anyone know if these injectors will work in the ‘85, despite the number difference? The dealer is uncertain. Thanks!!

240--‘87 to ‘85 Bosch Injector Swap?

I would check the resistance of both and as long as both are the same the swap will not do any harm. However, one could flow more or less than the other. I am guessing that the earlier car has a different fuel injection than the later one. Such as LH 2.2 versus LH 2.4, and that the mass meter is also different. As long as any flow difference is minor and the resistance is the same (probably 12-16 ohms; don't worry unless one is about 2 ohms and the other is about 12+ ohms), they should work. The 02 sensor can compensate for minor flow differences (like 10%). I run -804 Bosch injectors in my LH 2.2 fuel system (89 740 Turbo) that originally had -357 injectors. The -804 were from a 94 940 Turbo that had LH 2.4 injection (and a different mass meter).

240--‘87 to ‘85 Bosch Injector Swap?

typical installation for 85-87 is bosch 0280150734.

The only reason I know this is because my friend is using the SAME injectors for a handheld flame thrower he made; the TriRod del Fuego. Fire!!
