How to replace light in seat belt latch? 900 1992

The seat belt latch connector by the center console used to light up so they could be found. Now that the bulbs have burned out, I’m wondering if anybody knows the procedure to replace the bulb.

How to replace light in seat belt latch? 900 1992

Hi,

I can't offer any advice on your immediate question but I have a more fundamental question. My 92 940T does *not* have these lights. I noticed this because my dad's 89 745 does. Mine's is a late 92, manufactured in August of 1992. What about yours?

George

How to replace light in seat belt latch?

I have a 1990 745T which does have the lighted seatbelt receivers. My 1993 944T does not. I had asked the question about why the 93 didn't here on the board a while back, and the general answer was either cost-cutting OR possible implications with crash protection pyrotechnics. The first reason sounds more plausible, although the second reason has more of an impact!

I wouldn't mind finding an older lighted pair for my 93, IF I knew that they would functionally work (is there a change in the mechanics?) AND if the wiring was there to hook up the lights.

Does anyone know the answers to these questions?

Thanks in advance!

I’m not sure of the date of mfg. Is that on the ID plates somewhere? I’m at work now so I cannot check that, however the chassis number is 056011.

I’m sure the bulb is in there because I can see it now that I broke the red “press” button off. There is another part in my way and I’m afraid to proceed further for fear of breaking anything else.
