Inside door release sticks open: suggestions? 900 1997

The door release handle on the inside passenger's side sticks open at times. Has anyone else had this problem? It's not all of the time, but it is a nuisance when it occurs. If you have had this problem, and fixed it, how did you do it?

    Try removing the small panel behind the door release and spray in some lubricant. I suggest silicone lubricant for the plastic parts.

    I haven't had that problem but I fixed a couple other things in my door, it's easy to open the panel and the mechanism inside is pretty straightforward, a couple rods and levers. Check for bent-out-of-place rods and stuff, and that some part of the door isn't contacting the mechanism. I've never unbolted the latch itself, someone else will have to say how to fix it if the problem lies with that.
