Rear seat 200

I want to change the rear seat in my 85 244 DL. Can someone tell me how to remove it I can't seem to find instructions anywhere?

Sure, easy. Shove your hands down into space where the upper and lower seats meet and pull the lower seat up and to the front. The front of the seat is sort of hinged to the floor by brackets and it will pull up and out of the retainer bracket (under the front end of the seat). Then, look for the bent metal tabs at the lower side corners of the backrest and bend them up so the bottom of the backrest can move. The backrest will then pull up out of its retainer brackets.

rhaire,

any idea to get the rear seat (the bottom cushion) back in? I got it out, and now it looks like I have to bend 100 different ways to get it back into those 2 brackets.

Not too hard if you just set the seat bars by the bottom bracket and slightly to the rear, by eye, then lower the seat rear a bit above its final position and keep a little downward pressure on the front while you push the rear in place. Easy to check your work by lifting up a little on the bottom front edge of the seat. In a try or two you will have it. Do not overdo the force or the angle, it is quite easy to do when you get teh touch.

Thank you, I will give it a try.
