Australian advice for 240 sway bars 700 1990

After reading many posts about how well standard bricks respond to after market swaybars, I have decided to take the plunge with my 1990 240 wagon.

The IPD bars are 25/22mm. Getting them over here would be expensive though.

However, Australian sourced bars for the same vehicle are listed as 22/20 by both Pedders and Whiteline (Selbys). This would seem a bit mild.

Have any of you Australian brickboarders fitted locally sourced sway bars? Any comments on how they performed? Other ideas?

regards

Tassiebrick

FYI - IPD also sells a kit designated for "GT or Lowered 240" with 25/25mm bars. I don't think there is any reason you couldn't use this combination on your brick. I run that setup in my 83 245T (stock springs) and I highly recommend it over the 22mm rear bar - well worth the $10US difference. Wagons' weight bias is slightly more toward the rear than sedans, so the larger rear bar produces reduced understeer that is quite manageable, even ... fun. Good luck.

If you haven't, might I suggest doing a search on the "google" web site for
"Australian volvo clubs". I came up with a few links that might have more information.

Good luck.
