Outside Temp Sensor 900

I have been the happy owner of a 1995 960 for about a year. One thing that has not worked properly is the outside temperature indicator.

Upon closer inspection, the sensor is hanging loose under the car. I cannot find its proper location. I suspect it is picking up heat from the engine and that is influencing the temp reading.

Anyone know where this thing belongs?

If I remember this correctly, it is attached underneath the bumper.
I have also seen people install these in the door jam.

look at the air dam, on the extreme right and left sides are two holes, approx 5/16" each. the temp sensor is a bullet shaped device that simply snaps into the hole on the right. nonstops
