1] Does any know who makes the binders for volvo for their manuals. odd placement of the binder rings. [volvo only part?].2] where can I buy brushes for the volvo alternator besides the dealer. I know they sell a brush kit but I would rather not deal with them.tia.

    The Ken Cook company used to handle the Volvo Service Manuals. They were at 1-800-25-VOLVO. You are right about the odd ring placement, however that is a placement used by other books, too. Look at the binders (before computers) that parts catalogs were on at an AutoZone or some such place.

    I purchased several sets of brushes from an online house, maybe it was alloemparts, I can't recall. They cost $2.00 a set so I got 6 sits (have 3 daily drivers) to make the shipping fee "worth it". You might contact fpcghroton, or one of the other places that advertise on the B-Board.

        I have a 740ft turbo and a 740 b234f,I use brushes from a Honda motorcycle,the 1500 Goldwing model,brushes are around $3 a piece and are longer than oem,they solder right into the brush holders if you have the internal reg type bosch alternator.
