Ok, I just bought what i was told is a "nissens" radiator from thepartsbin.com and they sent me something that says "crane radiator" are these the same company.....i dont want to put something in my brick that i dont know about. Also they reccommend changing the overflow cap when doing the radiator.....but the thing is their database had the green cap listed for my car ...1993 944T but my car has a grey one on it right now.

I'm pretty sure there isn't an all metal radiator availble for a 93 940. All the 3 core nissens i've found fit the 240's until 93, but the 700 and 900's can only use that radiator until 91. So you may be stuck with the original style plastic. But if you can find one, post it. I've got a 93 940 wagon and i'd like to find a metal one before mine does break.

The radiator part doesn't sound right to me. When I ordered a Nissens for my 92 745T it said Nissens right on the box. You didn't order an all-metal one did you? If the rad that you got is all metal then its not a Nissens, they only make al/plastic ones for 92 and newer cars.

The green cap replaces the gray cap. The grey one that was on my car before I replaced it was cracked all around the top.

Well i'll never do business with them again. I called and they said that they shipped another part because they were out of stock on the Nissens unit so they shipped me this Crane Radiator....yeah it has plastic side tanks again.....i dont know if i should install it or get another.......but the kicker here is they wont ship me another radiator without charging my credit card again and wait the 2-3 weeks for their warehouse to credit me for the return......

So guys should i use this radiator with the plastic....merrite side tanks?
I'm going to put different trans cooler on it now instead.

I had heard bad things once or twice from others about that place. Some people have had good luck with them though. I think the al/plastic rads are great as long as you realize that you'll have to replace them in ~10 years. I don't know anything about Crane brand though.

That would piss me off if they sent me the wrong thing without even consulting me first and then tried to charge me again to ship the right thing. That's their fault not yours. I don't really know what you can do. Have you called them?

Well i'm going to keep the radiator....simply because i need it and dont feel like putting out more money elsewhere..... I cant find anywhere that has the part. What exactly changed for the 93 944T? Everyone else charges over 200 for one for that year, so since i need to get the job done before i fry something. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor, the super was an idiot, and unfortunatly i'm between a rock and a hard place so to speak, if i find something cheaper/better i'm all for it, but since i've got a time constraint i'm screwed.

1. I wouldn't keep this radiator.

2. I would call www.fcpgroton.com and a get nissen unit from them. Never heard of Crane.

3. Call up your credit card company and dispute this charge and they (credit card compnay) won't charge your account. Call up the shipper and have them take back the shippment because it was not what you ordered. They in turn will have to take back the package and will bill the company you bought it from.
