ok i bought this 83 242 a year ago its a halifax car if that helps but the problem is that i was looking at my bumper and both the front and rear are thicker at one side than the other. I though maybe it had been in a crash and the body was twisted(hopfully not) but then at a volvo show i went to there was a car like mine with the same bumper problem. what is wrong with my bumper? how can i fix it? is there somthing in side the bumper that could have collapsed at one side?? My car had a similar problem. In my case, it was the bolt which holds the corners to the fenders was broken. Does one side of your bumper look much thicker or just a little off? Another possibility is that the plastic cap's tabs which snap it into place on the aluminum inner structure may have popped loose on that thicker side. Worst case senario: it may have taken a mild hit which could have bent the underside of the aluminum understructure up.
