I got done installing my Hella Air horn last week. It’s a blast...literally! I use my horn quite frequently down here in FL (the elderly…need I say more?). Needless to say, it was very easy to install. And I found a great place to put it inside the hood. With the horns, one of them is point forward and down and the other points straight and to the left a bit. I figure you honk more frequently towards those areas.
It is also incredibly loud and annoying. When I honk, people seem to cringe from the pain. That will teach them to move 

    I just put my VW air horns on my 740 and I'm going to put my new two way Hella on the 960 and my new three way Hella's on the V70. I mounted the trumpets in the original mounting place as the old horns and the air compressor on the evaporator bracket. I'll have to figure something else out for the other two.

    BTW, try this. Next time some jerk with the 1100 watt audio system gets near you in traffic, blast him with your air horns. It's music to your ears, right?

        Well, so far so good on the 960. Minor problem, one of the electric seat switches went bad on one side, the front of the seat 'down' side. It was up all the way. I fixed it by drilling a hole in the plastic sw. bidy and shooting tuner cleaner inside. Works fine now. The radiator had some crusty coolant on it so I changed it since it was at 105K and I didn't want any thoubles. A little PM is always good.

        The V70 feels luxurious. I needed a newer car since the 740 has 290K and I can't afford to break down. I'm not expecting it to, but there are some repair issues. So I went to the dealer and found one. The mileage is about 28 mpg on my 100 mile per day commute. Lots of nice features and a quiet ride, unlike the older 740. It does have soem body shake which I can hear as low frequence booming. This's not present in the 740 or the 960.

        Maybe next time an MB E320.
