How often do we have to charge our battery to maintain its longevity.

If the charging system on your car is working properly, you shouldn't ever have to "charge" your battery by any means other than driving the car. The exception to this is if your car is going to be stored for a long period of time without being driven. If this is the case, a "battery buddy" type device might be a wise investment to keep the battery charged. These just keep the battery from slowly losing its charge as it sits unused. Are you having trouble with dead batteries?
