Loss of Power Due to Knock Sensor Failure

How many folks have experienced loss of power and found that the knock sensor was at fault? What were your symptoms? What did you try before concluding that the knock sensor was the problem?

While I have yet to experience a failed knock-sensor,I think unplugging it is how you determine your suspicions. The item is neither expensive nor difficult to replace.
