duct tape for temp fix on intake? 700 1991

ok so besides the fact that i've noticed that my intake piping that goes right beforethe IC is coverd in a light film of oil. i think i see what might be a few small tears in it. for a temp fix i'd like to wrap the whole hose in dect tape or something very strong to not only keep it from expanding so much but to also try to keep it from leaking as much oil to the inside of my car. i know this is signs of another problem with the turbo maybe being worn but i figure, i've see no smoke out the exhaust, the IC has very little if not no oil left in it. and the car has been running strong(up untill about two days ago when i've noticed i've lost about 10+ hp. this is just needing to last me say a month and about ~300 miles of driving. sound like a plan or should i just sideline the car for now?

Your hose is shot. Wrapping it in duct tape would get you home but not much more: the heat under the hood and the pressure inside the hose will soon cause it to fail. A slightly longer-lasting fix would be the metal tape used to seal heating ducts (not "duct" tape) which is at least metal. But the adhesive won't last.
You're stuck: time for a new hose.

ah ok, yea last time i had a leak the line from the overflow tank to the turbo cooler, taped that sucker up with duct tape and it last about 100+ miles till i could get to a volvo dealer to get the part so i figured this might work. the hose isn't shot yet, it still holds pressure fine. when i boost its a full 11-12 all the time i see no real loss in actual boost pressure, and i was told that most older hoses will slowly let oil seap through them to the out side. but yea other wise the car still runs fine, the fact taht its about 700 miles from the next oil chance and got about 1000 miles left on the timing belt could also be the prob.
but yea thx i'm gonna pick up a new hose as soon as i get the $, but untill they i'll just drive my other car.

I'd do it only to get home or to the parts place.

One of the unsung/unspoken problems with turbo cars is engine fires with oil leaks. A duct-taped hose is just asking for one (engine fire).
